Filipino Migrants in Solidarity (FILMIS) is an organization of Filipino migrants in the Netherlands whose mission is to promote the culture, education, and the human rights of the Filipinos.
To attain its mission, they seek to encourage the Filipino migrants to develop their talents and potentials by participating in various artistic, cultural, and educational activities. It also seeks to promote the fundamental human rights and dignity of the Filipino migrants in the Netherlands by helping them out to gain access to education, healthcare, and legal services through networking.
Currently, FILMIS is actively involved in the campaign for the ratification of the ILO Convention-189 that recognizes the labor rights of domestic workers in the Netherlands. Moreover, it also played an active role in the campaign a year ago to oppose the proposed plan to criminalize the undocumented migrants.
In pursuit of its goal, FILMIS has endeavored to unite the Filipino community since its inception on October 18, 2013 by working with different organizations in the Netherlands.
